Killeen ISD 2nd-grader Dies From Rare Form of Bacterial Meningitis

Killeen ISD officials announced Thursday that a second-grade student died after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.The district put out a health and safety alert Tuesday after the Bell County Public Heath Department reported that the student at Saegert Elementary School had a possible case of pneumococcal meningitis -- an infection spread through coughing, kissing or sharing anything by mouth.
