A volunteer fire chief and youth baseball coach in Kaufman County has been arrested after authorities say he sexually abused a boy for several years.Edward Franklin "Buddy" Mann was booked into the Kaufman County jail Tuesday on one charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child younger than 14. His bail is set at $25,000.Mann led the Ables Springs Volunteer Fire Department, coached youth baseball and volunteered as a sports trainer at Terrell High School.Kaufman sheriff's spokeswoman Jolie Stewart told inForney.com that a boy coached by Mann said Mann had abused him for several years starting when he was 12.Authorities seized electronics and other items during a search of Mann's home Tuesday.Peter Esposito, president of the fire department's board of directors, said Mann has resigned as fire chief."Our main concern and objective is protecting the fire department," he told inForney.com.
