Juvenile Attacks Woman in Arlington Park Because ‘voices Told Him to,' Chief Says

A juvenile is in custody after police say he attacked a woman who was walking in an Arlington park Wednesday afternoon.Police say the assault happened just before 5 p.m. at Veterans Park on West Arkansas Lane.Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson said the suspect lives across the street from the park and has a severe mental disability."The suspect was diagnosed with severe mental disorders when voices told him to attack her," Johnson said on Twitter.The victim was hospitalized for cuts from a sharp-edged weapon, possibly a piece of glass.The juvenile, whose name has not been released because of his age, was taken to a mental-health facility after officers detained him.
