A state district judge has ruled in favor of a temporary injunction blocking a controversial McKinney ordinance governing electioneering. A trial date has been set for May 14 to determine whether or not the injunction will become permanent. According to the ruling, the city "has not demonstrated a compelling governmental interest justifying the enforcement of the ordinance." That was a concern Judge Benjamin N.
