Judge Delays Decision to Set Trial Date in Ken Paxton Criminal Case

HOUSTON — The judge presiding over Attorney General Ken Paxton's criminal cases did not set a trial date on Thursday, instead asking to reconvene in about a month for more discussion.At a hearing in Houston, Harris County Criminal District Court Judge Robert Johnson asked the parties to the case to return on July 27. That day, he could set the trial date that day or decide to delay that decision until later.Johnson, elected to the bench last year, was just chosen to take over Paxton's cases after they were moved from Collin to Harris County.
