John Wiley Price Wins Big in Court But Still Has Work to Do With Constituents

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price said all along that charges against him would not stand.A federal jury Friday proved him right. They found him not guilty on seven bribery and mail fraud charges and deadlocked on four tax evasion charges.What a victory for Price. What a blow for prosecutors.They spent six years building a case against one of North Texas' most powerful politicians. They conducted dramatic raids of his home and office and made a high-profile public arrest. After a two-month trial, they have nothing to show for it, save the public's loss of trust and a defendant emerging stronger than ever.If this was the best case prosecutors could bring, they should have brought nothing at all.
