Japan-owned Developer Plans McKinney Industrial Park

An Atlanta developer plans to build a McKinney industrial park with almost 1 million square feet.The McKinney Logistics Center would be constructed on State Highway 5 north of Wilmeth Road.Core5 Industrial Partners - which already has numerous warehouse projects in North Texas - plans to build the 4-building, 65-acre project, according to information filed with McKinney's Planning and Zoning Commission."The proposed site plan consists of four industrial warehouse buildings ranging in size from approximately 130,000 square feet to 385,000 square feet," an engineer for Core5 told McKinney planners in the filings. "In addition to warehouse buildings Cypress Hill Drive is proposed to be extended through the subject property as part of the proposed development."Core5 says on its website that the first 129,914-square-foot industrial building will be ready in mid 2020.Core5 is a division of Japan-based Kajima Corp., a 170-year-old real estate and construction company.The industrial builder was founded in the U.S. in 2015 and has developed 10 million square feet of projects. The company said it plans to begin another 10 million square feet this year.Core5 has projects in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Pennsylvania and South Florida.In North Texas, Core5 has projects in Plano, southern Dallas and Hutchins.  Continue reading...
