J.C. Penney Ends Men's Apparel Subscription Service With Bombfell

J.C. Penney is ending a men's big and tall apparel subscription business it started with Bombshell just over a year ago. Plano-based Penney reports fourth quarter results Thursday morning and has said it may announce store closings. The partnership with New York-based Bombshell, a firm that personalizes monthly shipments to customers based on their sizes and preferences, is the second project launched under former CEO Marvin Ellison that new CEO Jill Soltau has reversed.Customers were notified earlier this month that the J.C. Penney + Bombshell service would end on March 1 and asked them to instead shop on jcp.com.Penney said earlier this month that it's exiting the appliance business, a major initiative started by Ellison in 2016, in 600 stores of its 860 stores.  Continue reading...
