Eataly, a hybrid grocery and restaurant concept created in Italy in 2007 and now in 37 locations around the world, has been rumored to be looking at Dallas for a while. It appears that Dallas is now officially in the works. Eataly, which has six stores in the U.S. in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and most recently Las Vegas, has taken a formal step into Texas.Eataly Dallas LLC was created in Delaware last month. D Magazine was the first to report that piece of the story. The concept has both freestanding and mall locations in the U.S. and varies from 40,000 square feet to 67,000 square feet. In Dallas, it may be looking at NorthPark Center, which has a large space with an exterior entrance available on the Boedeker Street side of the mall.Upscale home appliance and remodeling retailer Pirch vacated the space in late 2017 in a restructuring that left only its California stores open.NorthPark Center declined to comment.Eataly hasn't been reached. The company has a dozen locations in Italy alone. Other stores are in Turkey, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, Sweden and Russia.Twitter: @MariaHalkias  Continue reading...
