Is Collin County a Suburb? Not So Much, Leaders Say at Subscriber Meet-and-greet

The verdict is in: Collin County is not a suburb of Dallas. That’s according to four local leaders, anyway.At a Wednesday event for subscribers of The Dallas Morning News held at Plano’s Legacy Hall, panelists from Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Collin College all agreed that the rapidly changing face of the county makes it more than a stereotypical suburban community.“Suburb is, in my opinion, almost an irrelevant term at this point,” said Peter Tokar, president of the McKinney Economic Development Corp. “There are no suburbs, there’s only different experiences around the metro in the different regions.”  Continue reading...
