Irving police were in a standoff with an armed man barricaded in a motel room Friday afternoon.The man called police Friday morning from the Budget Inn in the 1200 block of South Loop 12, near East Shady Grove Road, and said that he was being sought by authorities from Van Zandt County, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports.The man, who said he was armed, refused to leave the motel room when officers arrived.Authorities have evacuated nearby rooms and don't believe anyone else is in the man's motel room.
