Interstate 35 in Carrollton Closed After Suspected Drunk Driver Fatally Strikes Woman

A suspected drunk driver fatally struck a woman whose car wrecked out on Interstate 35 in Carrollton early Monday.The crash was reported about 3 a.m. at the Sandy Lake Road exit.Our media partners at KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported that the woman left her car after striking the median. Another driver stopped to help her before she was struck.The alleged DWI driver fled but was taken into custody later, Carrollton police spokeswoman Jolene DeVito said in an email. Northbound Interstate 35 remained closed through 7 a.m. while police investigated the crash.Traffic was being diverted to the President George Bush Turnpike.  Continue reading...
