Infant in Critical Condition After Parker County Babysitter Slammed Him ‘kinda Hard,’ Officials Say

A Springtown man was arrested Friday, accused of causing severe head trauma to his girlfriend's 8-week-old son because the baby was crying.Kaleb Ray Eisenamnn, 20, had been babysitting the infant, a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old while his girlfriend worked on Valentine's Day, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office.Eisenmann told the woman that the child wasn't breathing properly due to a cold, investigators said. The baby was lethargic and pale, she said, and apparently went into seizure on the way to an Azle hospital.The infant was alter transferred to Cook Children's Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition in the NICU with severe head trauma, officials said.Eisenmann admitted that he'd become frustrated when the baby wouldn't stop crying, according to the sheriff's office."I didn't slam him in the bed," Eisenmann reportedly said. "But I put him down really kinda hard."Medical staff also evaluated the other children Eisenmann had been watching, and found bruises on the 2-year-old. They were returned to their mother, who is not a suspect.Eisenmann was charged with injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury. He remained in the Parker County jail Sunday with bail set at $50,000."Our hearts go out to this injured infant and his family," Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler.
