In Dallas Visit, Beto O’Rourke Says Immigration Reform Would Be Early Priority of Administration

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke met with local immigrants and community leaders in Dallas on Thursday, one day after unveiling an ambitious vision for a comprehensive reform of the nation’s immigration system.O’Rourke told a room full of immigrants, advocates and community leaders that immigration reform would be an early priority of his administration and that he was there to listen and add to an already wide-ranging plan to reform the nation's immigration laws.The plan unveiled Wednesday addresses major issues like creating a pathway to legal status for an estimated 10.7 million unauthorized immigrants and stemming the flow of migrants from Central America currently overwhelming federal immigration authorities by doubling the amount of aid provided to those countries.  Continue reading...
