In Dallas Council Race, Paula Blackmon Scores Former Opponent's Endorsement

Dallas City Council candidate Paula Blackmon has scored a former opponent's support in her bid to replace outgoing incumbent Mark Clayton.Sarah Lamb, who finished third in the May 4 election in the White Rock-area district, said this week she's endorsing Blackmon in her June 8 runoff against Erin Moore. In a letter, Lamb wrote that Blackmon, a former aide to mayors Tom Leppert and Mike Rawlings, is the best fit to fix the city's officer shortage, make improvements to public works projects and maintain the health of White Rock Lake."Only one candidate remaining in this race prioritizes these key issues, and that is Paula Blackmon," Lamb wrote in her endorsement.Lamb's support could be a big win for Blackmon, who had 37 percent of the vote in the May election compared to 31 percent for Moore.
