Immigration March Planned for April 9 in Downtown Dallas

A broad Dallas coalition that includes Latinos and Muslims is planning a “mega-march” on April 9 to rally support for minority communities facing discrimination, especially on immigration issues.Organizers say they hope to attract 100,000 or more people to the march. A similar march and rally in 2006 brought an estimated 350,000 to 500,000 people to downtown streets, Dallas police said then. “Unfortunately, we are going to have to do it again,” organizer Domingo Garcia said at a news conference at Dallas City Hall.He said organizers were motivated by the prospect of even more unauthorized immigrants being deported this year than in the years when President Barack Obama was dubbed “Deporter-in-Chief."“It is not moral to separate families,” Garcia said.Those gathered at the news conference included Rev.
