Hurst Student Faces 9 Felony Charges After Threats to Bomb, Shoot Up High School

A L.D. Bell High School student was taken into custody Thursday, several weeks after a series of threats were sent to students and staff at the school.The girl, who is not being named because of her age, faces nine felony counts of terroristic threat and was taken to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Facility.The threats began the morning of Jan. 9, police said, when about 15 students received a threatening text message.Other messages threatening to bring guns and homemade bombs to the school were sent over a variety of messaging apps in the following days, police said.Police called the threats "unsubstantiated" from the beginning of their investigation.  Continue reading...
