Houston Rapper Bun B Shot Robber Who Threatened His Wife, Police Say

Houston rapper Bun B defended his home from a man who forced his way in and threatened his wife before trying to steal his car Tuesday, police say.Authorities say Demonte Alif Jackson was wearing a mask when he rang the doorbell of a home belonging to Bernard Freeman, who performs as Bun B. When Freeman's wife opened the door, Jackson shoved his way inside, pointed a handgun at her head and demanded she "give me what you got," authorities said. He then went to the garage and got into Freeman's vehicle, according to court records.Freeman, who overheard the exchange, got his handgun and confronted the robber, firing several rounds, authorities said. The robber, who was struck, fired back and ran from the garage, but Freeman chased him down and forced him to remove his mask before he fled.Jackson arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound soon after the altercation, police said. Freeman identified him as the burglar from a photo lineup.Jackson, 20, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary with intent to commit aggravated assault.
