Houston-area Boy Dies Days After Tree House Falls Onto Him

A 4-year-old Houston-area boy has died after a tree house collapsed and fell on him on Christmas Eve.Courtney Contreras, the mother of Kade Contreras, wrote on Facebook late Wednesday that "our sweet baby boy went home to be with Jesus today at 4:18 pm."Kade was playing in the backyard of a relative's home in Splendora, about 35 miles north of Houston, on Sunday. The Contrerases live in nearby Cleveland.Cleveland ISD police Chief Rex Evans, who has been acting as a family spokesman, said that a tree house was assembled in the yard, and at some point it collapsed onto Kade. He was rushed to Kingwood Hospital with severe head trauma, and later moved Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.  Continue reading...
