House Speaker Paul Ryan Gets a Lift From Southwest Airlines in Touting $1.5 Trillion Tax Overhaul

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Paul Ryan wants the GOP's tax overhaul to take off. He turned to a Dallas company with just that kind of expertise.The Wisconsin Republican participated in an employee town hall Monday at Southwest Airlines' headquarters, using the high-profile setting as yet another opportunity to sell the American public on the merits of the $1.5 trillion tax revamp that Congress passed last year."More jobs, higher wages, more competitive, resilient businesses that don't go through boom-bust cycles," Ryan said.In truth, the House speaker wasn't even the most active salesman in the building.  Continue reading...
