House Member Seeks First Bump in Poor Texas Nursing Home Residents’ Allowance in 12 Years

AUSTIN -- Twelve years after she last secured a raise for Texas' most impoverished old folks, Rep. Senfronia Thompson is at it again.On Monday, Thompson began her latest push for an allowance bump for nursing home residents on Medicaid."Occasionally, people may need an extra diaper," the Houston Democrat told the House Human Services Committee.
