House Chairman: Bathroom Bill Is ‘unnecessary,' Potentially Dangerous

AUSTIN — The Texas lawmaker who could determine the fate of the so-called "bathroom bill" says the controversial legislation is unnecessary and bad for Texas business.In an interview with The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday, Byron Cook said he didn't see the need for the bill, which would limit restroom use by transgender men, women and children in Texas. When asked whether he opposed the legislation, he said, "I'm not for it.""I'm struggling with, where is the necessity of this bill?"
