Horrific Child Abuse That Started in Fort Worth Ends in Life Sentences for California Couple

A California couple whose horrific abuse of most of their 13 children began in Fort Worth was sentenced to life in prison Friday.David Turpin, 57, and Louise Turpin, 50, were sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in a Riverside, Calif., courtroom Friday, meaning that they won't be eligible for parole until they have served 25 years.The two pleaded guilty to 14 counts of abusing their children in February. The siblings, then ages 2 to 29, were discovered imprisoned inside their home after their 17-year-old sister escaped and called 911 in January 2018.When they were discovered, it was determined that the children had not bathed in months, their growth had been stunted and they were severely underweight.  Continue reading...
