Hog Hunters Discover Human Remains Off Highway in Ellis County

Hunters discovered human bones in rural Ellis County on Saturday afternoon, and authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.According to Capt. Chris Hamilton of the Ellis County Sheriff's Office, the hunters had leased the land in Alma for hog hunting and discovered the remains in a wooded area.The remains, which were found about half a mile off Section House Road near Interstate 45, have been sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification. It is not known how long the bones were there.Hamilton said the sheriff's office was investigating the case as a homicide based on evidence at the scene, but said authorities are unable to release any more information at this time.  Continue reading...
