Historic Deep Ellum Cotton Gin Building Headed for Redo

One of the oldest buildings in Dallas' Deep Ellum district could get as much as $3 million in city incentives to pay for a redo.The Continental Gin building on Elm Street near Baylor Medical Center was built in 1888 and until recently housed artists' workspaces and living lofts.Investors who bought the historic building last year want to convert the property into a combination of retail and office space.The project will cost almost $29 million to restore and convert the 3-story landmark building.  Continue reading...
