Highland Village Student Who Posted Photo With Fake Gun on Snapchat Headed to Juvenile Detention

A Highland Village student was taken into custody after posting a threatening photo on Snapchat, police said. Shortly before 6 p.m., Highland Village police received a report that a student at a local school posted what was believed to be a threatening comment with what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol on Snapchat, police said. Officers went to the student's home and found an airsoft 9mm replica that appeared to match the one in the photo. The student will be transferred to Denton County Juvenile Detention.
