High School Flashback: Can You Name This Summer's Reading Assignments From Just the Books' Plots?

In the midst of summer freedom a shackle looms in the back of the minds of high school students everywhere: reading assignments.North Texas teens are no different. Most area schools have assigned their students one to three books to complete before classes resume in August. Some districts have selections for all schools, while others allow campus administrators to determine their own lists. In some districts, including Mansfield ISD, students are allowed to choose a book that fits their interests from a list of approved texts, and others, including Keller ISD, don't assign reading for over the break. When students return, some are tested day one, others have to turn in essays, and nearly all spend a few days to a few weeks discussing the books in class. We gathered summer reading lists from more than 45 North Texas schools and school districts.
