‘Hidden Figures' Tells Story of Black Women Who Helped America Win the Space Race

Emma Rodgers closed her popular Black Images Book Store and Resource Center in 2006. But the Dallas book maven continues to inform us about works we should read and the valuable information that they unfold.Now she's telling us about a new non-fiction work that readers are lining up to buy and get autographed — and the film adaptation that critics are touting.The subject of this true story falls under the category of news the public should have known of long ago but did not — and largely still does not.That should change quickly come Jan. 6, when the star-studded movie is to be released. It features several powerhouse actors and entertainers, including Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst and musical artist Janelle Monae in an acting role.
