Here’s Where Heavy Rain Caused Wastewater to Spill From Dallas Sewers

Storms that dumped several inches of rain on North Texas caused sanitary sewers to overflow across Dallas on Wednesday, city officials say.Dallas Water Utilities officials emphasized that the city’s water supply was unaffected by the overflows of diluted wastewater.“The overflows were primarily caused by inflow and infiltration of storm water into the City of Dallas wastewater collection system,” spokesman Zachary Peoples said in a written statement.Crews from the utility are monitoring and cleaning up at each overflow site. One primary drainage exceeded 100,000 gallons, the threshold set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that requires cities to notify the public and government officials.  Continue reading...
