Haltom City Man Accused of Killing His Twin Sister Is Arrested in South Carolina

A Haltom City man accused of killing his twin sister and fleeing in her car last week has been arrested in South Carolina.U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement officials arrested David Burnell Conditt, 58, Monday morning in Charleston. He faces one count of murder.Haltom City police found Dena Conditt Wright, 58, dead just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the siblings' home in the 5700 block of Macneill Drive. Police wrote in an arrest-warrant affidavit that she was lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen and had suffered suffered blunt force trauma to her head and arms.Officers had been asked to perform a welfare check by a 911 caller whom Wright had texted Tuesday, asking to come over and saying she was having issues with her brother. She didn't respond to his messages after that, he told police.An acquaintance of the siblings said he saw Conditt around 5 p.m. Wednesday in a car matching his sister's red Toyota Rav4. The acquaintance found that strange because Conditt did not have a driver's license and never drove, according to the affidavit.Conditt got out of the vehicle with bare feet encrusted in what appeared to be blood, according to the affidavit.
