A severe thunderstorm dropped massive amounts of hail as it swept through Collin County early Sunday evening, leaving the ground covered white in some areas and vehicle owners to deal with the damage.The visually dramatic storm system rolled across the northern metroplex around 6 p.m., raining volleys of hail as large as a golf ball in parts of McKinney, Frisco and Plano amid blaring weather sirens. In Frisco, KDFW-TV (Fox 4) tweeted images of the aftermath around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Eldorado and Independence, where the ground was covered in white, as if it had snowed.
