Grand Prairie Woman Accused of Setting 5-year-old Stepdaughter on Fire Indicted

A Grand Prairie woman accused of setting her 5-year-old stepdaughter on fire to punish her for yelling was indicted Monday, Dallas County court records show. Dalia Jimenez, 20, was indicted on a charge of injury to a child. She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 14, records show.Grand Prairie officers responded May 13 to a report that a child had been burned and was in need of medical treatment. Jimenez told officers that she had been injured while lighting a candle, police said. She eventually confessed and said she had intentionally poured the rubbing alcohol and used a lighter to set ignite it to punish the child for yelling, police said.   Continue reading...
