Grand Prairie Man Accused of Shooting East Texas Deputy Could Be Headed to Dallas Area, Authorities Say

Authorities are looking for a Grand Prairie man they say attempted to kill a Henderson County sheriff's deputy early Wednesday.Jeremy Brian Cook, 39, is accused of shooting the deputy along County Road 4117 in Berryville, about 20 miles southwest of Tyler, around 3 a.m.The deputy was stable and expected to survive the shooting, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said.Authorities say that Cook may be headed toward the Dallas area and should be considered armed and dangerous. He is believed to be driving a silver Chevrolet pickup with Texas license plates BR7-1002, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.Anyone who encounters Cook should call police immediately and should not approach him, authorities said.  Continue reading...
