Get Ready to Think and Learn at the 5-day Dallas Festival of Books and Ideas

When it comes to big names, the upcoming Dallas Festival of Books and Ideas has more than a few. They include singer-songwriter Rhett Miller of the Old 97’s and author Ben Fountain, whose honors include a National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction for his debut novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.But far more than that, the fifth annual festival seeks to leap a cultural canyon by instigating discussions on a wide range of urban concerns, including racial diversity, the needs of the city’s elderly population and Dallas’ role as a beacon of science and technology.As a result, this year’s festival is embracing The Open City as its overarching theme.  Continue reading...
