Garland Police Look for Man Who Robbed Hotel, Home Goods Store at Gunpoint

Garland investigators are searching for a gunman who robbed a hotel in late August and a home goods store on Saturday.Police say the first robbery happened at about 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 18, when the man walked into the Quality Inn and Suits in the 1600 block of eastbound Interstate 30 and produced a handgun to steal from an employee.The second robbery happened about two weeks later, shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday. The man entered the Tuesday Morning store in the 400 block of westbound Interstate 30, acted as if he was going to buy an item and then robbed the store after displaying a handgun, police say.Authorities described the suspect as a white man wearing a dark-colored shirt, a black hat, faded jeans and sunglasses. He's about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds.
