Gang Member Who Lured Victim to Plano, Robbed Him and Then Shot Him Gets Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison

A gang member who lured a Dallas man to Plano two years ago, robbed him and then shot him has been sentenced this week to 40 years in prison.Quinton Gold Hodge, 19, of Dallas pleaded guilty last month to attempted capital murder. District Judge Mark Rusch presided over the sentencing hearing on Monday and assessed his punishment.Hodge, who also goes by the name Quiton, is a known member of the YNB gang in Dallas, according the police. Members of that gang have committed several other assaults, robberies and murders in Dallas County, according to prosecutors."Where there is gang activity, there will be crime," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said. "Criminal street gangs are not welcome in Collin County, and the violent crimes they commit will not be tolerated."According to prosecutors, Hodge and an accomplice used social media to lure the Dallas man to Plano on March 20, 2016. After arriving at the location, the man was robbed at gunpoint. When he tried to walk away with his hands in the air, Hodge shot him in the torso, prosecutors say. The victim spent three weeks in the hospital and underwent several surgeries. Hodge was 17 at the time of the shooting. Plano Police had put out a plea for help in tracking him down and warned at the time that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Hodge was booked into the Collin County Detention Center on May 6, 2016.Hodge's accomplice, Robert James Pearson, pleaded guilty in September 2017 to attempted capital murder.
