GameStop Names a Veteran Retailer to Become Its New CEO

GameStop names veteran retailer George Sherman, 56, to be its new chief executive officer.The board filled the top job that's been occupied on an interim basis for a year as it considered and dropped the prospect of selling the company and sold off its AT&T wireless stores.Sherman has experience at several large retailers -- Advanced Auto Parts, Best Buy, Home Depot and Target -- and most recently was CEO of Victra, the largest exclusive authorized retailer for Verizon Wireless with 1,140 stores.
