From Moral Crusader to Office Shooter: How a Frustrated Whistleblower Turned Violent

Matt Kempf made his living as a salesman. He found his calling as a whistleblower.After years of trying to expose wrongs, he turned up at The Dallas Morning News in 2016 to spill details about unsavory practices at an old job. Armed with binders full of documents to back his claims, he was meticulous, accurate and morally unyielding.But last month when he made his final trip to a new workplace near the High Five, he took on a different role: office shooter.Police responding to a report of gunshots April 24 found Kempf and his supervisor dead in a meeting room.
