Frisco's $5 Billion Mile Lands More Development

Frisco's $5 billion mile is getting another project.Irving-based apartment builder JPI is working on plans for a new rental community in the $700 million Gate development on the Dallas North Tollway north of John Hickman Parkway.The planned apartment development would be just across the tollway from the huge Wade Park projects.JPI has filed plans with Frisco for a 440-unit, 5-story apartment project with two buildings to be constructed on almost seven acres.The developer plans to start construction on its Gate project next year, according to a JPI spokesperson.The builder is finishing up work on its Jefferson Stonebriar apartments at Gaylord Parkway and Ohio Drive. That project is already more than 50 percent leased.JPI is the second builder to plan a project in the 40-acre Gate development.San Antonio-based apartment builder Embrey Partners is building a 350-unit rental community in the Gate.The Gate property is owned and has been planned by Dubai-based Invest Group Overseas.The project is planned to include almost 20 buildings ranging in height from about three stories to more than 10 floors.The development is designed for more than 650,000 square feet of office space, almost 1 million square feet of residential buildings, more than 130,000 square feet of retail space plus a luxury hotel.JPI is North Texas' biggest apartment builder, with projects underway in multiple locations.Fresco's so called $5 billion mile includes some of North Texas' biggest project, including the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, practice field and mixed-use project called the Star. The Frisco Station office and mixed-use development and Wade Park project at the tollway and Lebanon Road also are in the mile long stretch along the tollway.  Continue reading...
