Frisco Mall Shoplifting Suspect in Custody After Hit and Run That Sent Pedestrian to Hospital

A woman suspected of shoplifting at Frisco's Stonebriar Centre mall on Friday is accused of running over a pedestrian and striking another vehicle while fleeing the scene.Charges are pending against Cassandra Timmons, 57, of Dallas. Frisco police are continuing to investigate, according to police spokesman Radd Rotello.A 61-year-old woman who was struck by the vehicle was taken to a Plano hospital with unknown injuries. Police were called at 4:10 p.m. Friday about a shoplifting suspect at the JC Penney store at the mall at 2607 Preston Road just north of State Highway 121. A Frisco officer responding to the call saw the pedestrian get hit in the parking lot before the vehicle drove off.The officer pursued the vehicle southbound on Preston Road into Plano. The vehicle stopped south of Legacy Drive, where Timmons was arrested.Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police at 972-292-6010.
