Freda Gail Stern, ex-Dallas PR Executive, Public Library Advocate, Dies at 87

Freda Gail Baum Stern liked to say that as a child she read her way through the Breckenridge Public Library.She grew up to become a public relations executive and a devoted advocate of the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. She also was influential in advising her corporate public relations clients to create lasting annual events in Dallas, including the Jingle Bell Run benefiting Carter BloodCare and the Quest for Success Luncheon honoring black entrepreneurs.Stern, 87, died Friday of a heart attack in Aspen where she enjoyed attending summer music and ideas festivals.A memorial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road in Dallas, where she was a longtime active member.  Continue reading...
