Fort Worth's Huge AllianceTexas Development Grows With New Land Buy

North Fort Worth's huge AllianceTexas project is growing even bigger.Project developer Hillwood has purchased an additional 600 acres near the BNSF Railway's Alliance Intermodal Facility that will allow for additional warehouse construction.With the addition of the land along FM 156 near Fort Worth's Alliance Airport, Hillwood says it now has property to build an additional 36 million square feet of industrial space at AllianceTexas."This is one of the most significant land acquisitions in the history of AllianceTexas," Tony Creme, senior vice president of Hillwood, said in a statement. "As Alliance Airport and the BNSF Railway Alliance Intermodal Facility continue to expand and strengthen the foundation for AllianceTexas' commercial growth, this new property in Alliance Westport will serve as a strategic link between these two pieces of critical logistics infrastructure and offer unparalleled connectivity to our customers."The Alliance Westport business park currently has 8 million square feet of industrial and aviation buildings including facilities for Amazon Air and UPS.Terms of the new property sale were not disclosed.The 26,000-acre AllianceTexas just celebrated its 30th year of development and has 45 million square feet of buildings. More than 10,000 acres in the project remains to be developed.More than 60,000 people work at AllianceTexas.The project is estimated to have so far had a $76 billion economic impact for North Texas.  Continue reading...
