Fort Worth Police Shout, ‘Drop the Gun!' Repeatedly in Video Before Firing on 20-year-old in Pickup

Fort Worth police presented dramatic video of three officers standing in front of a white pickup, repeatedly shouting orders at a 20-year-old man to drop his gun before they opened fire.Fort Worth interim police chief Ed Kraus addressed the media during a news conference Thursday morning, in which he said officers followed proper procedure and took extra steps to protect pedestrians in an officer-involved shooting Sunday that left JaQuavion Slaton dead from multiple gunshot wounds.Earlier, police said ballistics tests on a gun fired by Slaton determined that he had first shot himself before officers returned fire.Kraus said he hoped showing the video would help restore trust in the community after the shooting, which led to racial tension in the city.  Continue reading...
