Fort Worth Police Exchange Fire With Car Passenger During Traffic Stop

Fort Worth police arrested a male suspect early Sunday after exchanging gunfire with him during a traffic stop along an Interstate 30 service road.The suspect was hospitalized and is in stable condition after being hit in the wrist and thigh, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Police declined to name him.A spokesman for the Fort Worth Police Department didn't return a request for information Sunday.The shooting happened in the service road along the 9100 block of Interstate 30. Police were assisting a deputy with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office who had pulled over a vehicle with several people whom he recognized from a previous call, according to the Star-Telegram. One of the passengers was not cooperative, pulled out a pistol and fired at the officers, the newspaper reported.
