Fort Worth Elementary Teacher Sexually Abused Young Relative, Police Say

An elementary-school teacher has been indicted on a charge that he sexually abused a young relative for months.A Tarrant County grand jury returned the indictment Tuesday against Maximiliano Ortega, 67, of Saginaw on one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.Ortega, who has worked for the Fort Worth ISD for 12 years, has been on paid leave from his job as a second-grade teacher at Morningside Elementary School since shortly after his arrest in December. He was being held Wednesday without bail at the Tarrant County jail.According to an arrest-warrant affidavit obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, police in Saginaw started investigating in late November after the 10-year-old's mother said the girl made an outcry about the alleged sexual abuse.  Continue reading...
