Forney Man Active in Youth Sports, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Child Also Faces Indecency Charges

A Forney man accused of sexually assaulting a child Monday now faces two additional charges of indecency with a child, Mesquite police say. Billy A. Williams, 36, was accused of a sexual assault that occurred when he reportedly offered a girl a ride near North Galloway Avenue and Town East Boulevard because of the cold, police said. He gave a "full confession" to investigators after he was arrested Tuesday at his home, police said. During an investigation, police learned Williams participates in youth sports throughout North Texas, specifically track and basketball, as a referee and coach or personal trainer. On Thursday, police obtained two indecency with a child warrants for Williams. Police said the charges are connected to "an outcry" from another female who knew Williams through youth sports. Williams is being held in the Dallas County Jail on the original sexual assault of a child charge. The two indecency charges are expected to be filed through Kaufman County. His bail has not been set yet. Police think there may be additional victims. Anyone who thinks Williams may have had inappropriate or sexual contact with them may call Mesquite police at 972-285-6336.  Continue reading...
