Former Uber Driver Accused of Raping Elderly Woman Arrested by DFW Airport Police

This breaking news story will be updated.A former Uber driver accused of raping an elderly woman before he dropped her off at her Fort Worth home last year has been arrested.Hashem Ramezanpour, 41, was being held Wednesday at the Tarrant County jail on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of an elderly person. His bail was set at $100,000.Ramezanpour picked up the 77-year-old victim after she attended church in Dallas the evening of Oct. 22.Before dropping her off at her home in north Fort Worth, he stopped and sexually assaulted her in a wooded area off of State Highway 377, she told authorities.Police believed at the time that Ramezanpour, a citizen of Iran, had fled the country. Jail records show he was arrested by DFW International Airport police Sunday.In February 2017, Ramezanpour was arrested after a teenage relative told a school counselor he had pushed her to the floor and hit her. Police reported that the girl had bruises on her neck and leg, a cut lip and a bump on her forehead.According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, Ramezanpour said he had pushed the girl in an act of discipline.
