Former Dallas Police Chief David Brown Urges Residents to Oust Incumbent Council Member

David Brown, Dallas' nationally renowned former police chief, hopes to add another role to his retirement bailiwick: local political kingmaker — in one council race, at least.Brown on Friday endorsed Matt Wood's bid for a City Council seat. Wood, a lawyer, is waging a campaign to unseat the brash Philip Kingston, who clashed with Brown during his tenure as chief.In a statement, Brown called Wood a "positive leader who'll make public safety a priority" in District 14, which includes parts of downtown, Uptown, Oak Lawn, Knox-Henderson and East Dallas.  Continue reading...
