Flashback: Hurricane Alicia Surged Texas Coast

Editor's note: Take a look back into The Dallas Morning News archives.Hurricane Alisha ripped through the Gulf Coast and hit land Aug. 18, 1983. Though most of the damage was concentrated in Galveston and Houston, Alicia's effects could be felt in North Texas. A truck driver in Dallas died due to heavy wind that hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Category 3 storm killed 21 people and caused a billion dollars worth of damage.   Continue reading...
