Editor's note: Take a look back at The Dallas Morning News archives.With disco music seeping the mainstream airwaves in the late 1970s, people donned their flamboyant outfits and danced the night away under the disco ball. But, in 1979, Dallas residents turned disco on its head and incorporated their relaxed western style. With country artists dabbling in disco, like Dolly Parton with her song "Baby I'm Burning," there was plenty to dance to. Dallasites nixed the elaborate clothes and opted for some jeans, boots and cowboy hat and turned disco into a Texana experience.   Continue reading...
